The Third Meeting of the 13th Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) was grandly held in Nanjing on 18th January, which lasted for four days. Mr Xu Wenqian, Chairman of Aosheng Hi-tech, was invited to participate in the meeting as a member from Hong Kong and Macao, and actively participated in all the agendas, and put forward the ‘Proposal on Supporting the Development of Hydrogen Energy Vehicle Industry’ and the ‘Proposal on Promoting the Centralised Heating in Jiangsu Province to Save Energy’ at the meeting.

During the meeting, Mr Xu Wenqian, Chairman of the Board, together with other CPPCC members, listened to and studied and discussed the speech of Comrade Xin Changxing, Secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC). During the meeting, Mr Xin Changxing had an in-depth exchange of views on the keyword ‘confidence’. He said, this year is the ‘14th Five-Year Plan’ the final year, to deeply implement the General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech on the work of Jiangsu and the CPC Central Committee's decision-making and deployment, the word ‘dry’ at the forefront, and work hard, to make greater contributions to the national situation with the new development of the actual performance. To do a good job this year, confidence is crucial. The CPPCC is a great unity and coalition of organisations, the new year to unite and drive the majority of CPPCC members, adhere to the party's leadership, united front, consultative democracy organic combination, draw the largest concentric circles of unity and struggle.

《Proposal on Supporting the Development of the Hydrogen Vehicle Industry》

Jiangsu Province is located in the core region of Yangtze River Delta, which lays a solid foundation for the development of hydrogen energy industry, no matter from the perspective of population distribution, port logistics, or terminal demand, industrial heritage, and hydrogen production methods. Hydrogen vehicles are an important development direction for the future automotive industry, and are of great significance to the energy structure adjustment and environmental protection of Jiangsu Province and even the whole country. For this reason, Chairman Xu Wenqian put forward the Proposal on Supporting the Development of Hydrogen Vehicle Industry. The proposal suggests that Jiangsu Province should further increase its support for the hydrogen energy vehicle industry, including introducing more policies to guide the development of the industry, building hydrogen energy infrastructure, such as hydrogen refuelling stations, and encouraging technological innovation and talent cultivation. He also mentioned that Jiangsu Province can learn from successful experiences at home and abroad, and introduce and digest and absorb advanced technologies in order to promote the rapid development of the hydrogen energy vehicle industry.

《Proposal to Promote Centralised Heating in Jiangsu Province to Save Energy》

Chairman Xu Wenqian put forward the ‘Proposal on Promoting Centralised Heating in Jiangsu Province to Save Energy’ in view of the current energy and environmental problems faced by Jiangsu Province. He pointed out that with the rapid development of the economy and the improvement of the living conditions of the residents, the demand for centralised heating in some cities in Jiangsu Province, especially in the northern part, is getting stronger and stronger. However, most of the current heating systems in Jiangsu Province are decentralised, which is not only inefficient in energy utilisation, but also puts considerable pressure on the environment. Chairman Xu Wenqian suggests that a centralised heating system will not only improve energy efficiency, but also effectively reduce emissions, thus achieving the goal of energy saving and emission reduction.

All along, Chairman Xu Wenqian has been focusing on his main responsibilities, integrating into the overall situation of national development with practical work, and always resonating with the needs of the country. As a member of Hong Kong and Macao, Chairman Xu Wenqian cherishes the high honour of CPPCC membership, conscientiously performs his duties as a member of the CPPCC, transmits more grass-roots voices and people's aspirations to the two sessions of the provincial government, and makes a two-way effort in advising and building consensus. In the future, he will continue to pay attention to the development of Jiangsu Province, for the economic and social progress of Jiangsu Province to contribute wisdom and strength.
