On November 18, the Sixth Council Meeting of the China Overseas Friendship Association (COFA) was successfully held in the Great Hall of the People. Wang Huning, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee and Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), attended the meeting and delivered an important speech. Mr. Shi Taifeng, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee, Secretary of the Secretariat of the Central Committee, Minister of the United Front Work Department of the Central Committee, and President of the China Overseas Friendship Association, made a work report to the General Assembly. Mr. Xu Wenqian, Chairman of Jiangsu Ausheng Composites Technology Co., Ltd. was elected as a member of the Board of Directors.

Founded in 1997, the China Overseas Friendship Association (COFA) is a national, associative, non-profit-making social organization with independent legal personality formed voluntarily by representatives of all walks of life in mainland China and related organizations, as well as by prominent personalities among compatriots in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR), Taiwan compatriots, and overseas Chinese with an independent legal personality. It plays an important role in widely contacting compatriots in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, as well as overseas Chinese, and promoting economic, scientific, technological, cultural and educational exchanges and cooperation between them and all sectors of society on the motherland.
